This table measures the first undisputed UFC title-fight win, not the date a belt was announced or transferred. That distinction matters for fighters such as Jose Aldo, who entered the UFC as the promoted WEC champion. A lower age means the fighter earned an undisputed UFC title-fight win sooner.

This ranking uses each fighter's oldest winning age in an undisputed UFC title fight. The win may be a title capture or a defense. It does not rank the oldest person who merely held a belt or entered a title fight.

How this list is counted

AgentMMA starts with UFC title-fight results in its bout database. A fighter enters the study after winning at least one undisputed UFC championship fight. Interim title wins do not count.

For the youngest table, the clock stops at the fighter's first qualifying win. For the oldest table, AgentMMA finds that fighter's latest qualifying win. Age is the time between the date of birth on file and the bout date, shown to one decimal place.

That method answers two different questions. The first asks how young a fighter was when they first won an undisputed UFC title fight. The second asks how old a fighter was when they last won one. A defense counts in the second table because the fighter won an undisputed title fight that night.

Some published lists count the day a fighter received champion status. Others include interim belts, tournament wins, or age while holding a title. Those choices can change the order. The UFC often states Jones' record as 23 years and 243 days. AgentMMA's 23.7 is the same achievement expressed in decimal years.

Promotions create another edge case. Aldo arrived as the WEC featherweight champion and was installed as UFC champion. This study dates him from his first undisputed UFC title-fight win, against Mark Hominick. That keeps the same rule for all 108 fighters.

Notable names on the list

Jon Jones: still the youngest

Jones took the light heavyweight belt from Mauricio Rua at UFC 128. His age was 23.7 under this method. The UFC also places him first in its own youngest-champion material. The promotion announced his retirement on October 6, 2026, so his record now stands as a career mark.

Joshua Van: the closest challenger

Van became the undisputed flyweight champion at 24.2, only half a decimal year behind Jones. The UFC still lists him as flyweight champion on October 21, 2026. Later defenses do not move his youngest-table entry because that table records only the first title-fight win.

Randy Couture: the late-career ceiling

Couture beat Gabriel Gonzaga at 44.2 and tops the oldest table. That bout was a heavyweight title defense, not his first championship win. UFC history also identifies Couture as its oldest title winner and oldest successful defending champion.

Glover Teixeira: oldest first-time champion

Teixeira was 42.0 when he submitted Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267. Unlike Couture's listed win, Teixeira's result was a title capture. The UFC describes him as the oldest first-time champion in company history. The distinction explains why both men can own an age record.

Justin Gaethje: a new entry in 2026

Gaethje joined the oldest list at 37.6 after beating Ilia Topuria at UFC Freedom 250. UFC's official result records a fourth-round corner stoppage. Since this table refreshes after new title results, an older future defense could move his entry upward.

How solid is this data?

The study covers 108 fighters with an undisputed UFC title-fight win. Its bout window runs from March 11, 1994, through October 17, 2026. AgentMMA computed the page on October 21, 2026.

Only UFC bouts count here. Fights in other promotions may appear in a fighter's professional record, but they never affect these UFC ages. Results follow UFC Stats as stored in AgentMMA's database. If a result was overturned, the database treats it as a no-contest.

Interim championships are excluded. A fighter promoted from an interim belt, or from another promotion's belt, needs an undisputed UFC title-fight win to enter. Fighters without a date of birth on file are also excluded because their age cannot be calculated consistently.

The page changes when a new result alters either top list, or when a verified birth date fills a gap. That makes it a maintained record page, not a frozen historical article.
