Russian lightweight Nikita Kulshin improved his undefeated record to 9-0 with a first-round knockout victory over Junior Melo (15-9-1) at an LFA event. The 26-year-old from North Ossetia, who has been living in the United States for four years, scored his sixth consecutive win in LFA over three years. This marked his second knockout finish in the promotion after winning four straight decisions. Following the victory, Kulshin took the microphone and called out the UFC, stating he is ready to compete on short notice at any time. Kulshin trains at Kill Cliff gym and appears to be positioning himself for a UFC contract.
