Sean Strickland spent an entire day in Newport Beach, California, where Khamzat Chimaev is currently training. Strickland repeatedly tagged his location on social media throughout the day, hoping to encounter Chimaev's team. He was responding to something he saw suggesting Chimaev said he would try to kill Strickland on the street. Strickland noted he was just ten minutes from Chimaev's gym and that people training with Chimaev follow him and would have seen his stories. He expressed disappointment that Chimaev didn't show up, saying he was the last guy in America Chimaev should mess with.
