Kaliningrad boxer Sergei Gorokhov (16-11-2) and his team were attacked by a crowd in the ring in Turkey after he knocked out local boxer Emirhan Kalkan (7-0) in the second round. The incident occurred in Trabzon after Gorokhov celebrated his victory and a confrontation ensued when a man in civilian clothes yelled at him and pushed him. After Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed back, a mob rushed the ring and attacked Gorokhov and his team. Two cornermen were hospitalized, and the team immediately drove to Georgia after being released, removing their Russian license plates for safety. All three are reported to be safe after reaching Georgia.
