Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov and his team were attacked by a crowd in the ring after he knocked out local Turkish fighter Emirhan Kalkan in the second round. Gorokhov, who entered with a 16-11-2 record against Kalkan's 7-0, celebrated his victory, which led to a confrontation. A man in civilian clothes yelled at Gorokhov, then pushed him after Gorokhov approached. When Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed back, a mob rushed the ring and assaulted Gorokhov's team. Two cornermen were hospitalized, and afterward the team immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates for safety. All three arrived safely in Georgia.
