Mike Tyson appeared on Robert Kennedy's podcast and discussed the terrible food he experienced during his three years in prison. Tyson explained that the Federal Prison System spends only 60 cents per day on feeding inmates, resulting in meals consisting mainly of sugar, processed foods, donuts, chips, and oversalted soup. He believes this poor nutrition makes prisoners more violent, causing people to fight and stab each other over minor issues. Tyson shared that his sister died from obesity-related complications due to unhealthy eating, while his mentor Cus D'Amato taught him proper nutrition. Kennedy cited research showing that improving prison food quality can reduce violence by 50%. Tyson now focuses on his appearance and health, eating mainly eggs for breakfast and seafood, which he considers the best fat-burning food.
