Aspinall, who holds a 15-3-0 record and carries the interim heavyweight title, is currently ranked sixth in the pound-for-pound standings. The 33-year-old from England trains out of Team Kaobon and is one of the more statistically dominant heavyweights in the sport, landing an extraordinary 7.63 significant strikes per minute at 67 percent accuracy while also averaging 2.62 takedowns per 15 minutes.

Pereira, the reigning light heavyweight champion competing at 13-4-0, is moving up in weight to face Gane. The 38-year-old Brazilian stands six-foot-four with a 79-inch reach and has built his reputation as a devastating striker, landing 5.16 significant strikes per minute at 62 percent accuracy.

Gane, nicknamed Bon Gamin, enters that matchup with a 14-2-0 record and sits ranked second in the heavyweight division. The 36-year-old Frenchman out of MMA Factory stands six-foot-four with an exceptional 81-inch reach and lands 5.29 significant strikes per minute at 61 percent accuracy.

Aspinall indicated he has been told to wait for Pereira and Gane to compete, allow both men time to recover from the fight, and then all parties can coordinate scheduling his next title appearance.

Why it matters

  • Aspinall's next opponent will be determined by the Pereira versus Gane result, directly shaping the heavyweight title picture.
  • A Pereira win would set up a cross-divisional title unification scenario; a Gane win would pit the top two heavyweights against each other.
  • Aspinall's striking volume and accuracy make him a stylistically compelling threat for either potential opponent.
