Footage has emerged of Khamzat Chimaev's first amateur fight, which took place in Sweden in September 2017. Chimaev won the bout by submission in the second round against opponent Khaled Laalam. He competed in three total amateur fights before transitioning to professional MMA the following year. The event was held by Fight Club Rush, an organization that continues to promote events and is broadcast on UFC Fight Pass. Chimaev's opponent Laalam now holds a 7-1 professional record and competes in UAE Warriors.
