Fight database Tapology has launched a new feature that calculates and displays an opposition level rating for UFC fighters. The metric uses a proprietary formula that scores fighters on a scale from 1 to 99 based on their last six UFC opponents, with fights outside the UFC not factored into the calculation. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads with a rating of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. At the bottom of the card, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzy Diaz both scored just 4. The system aims to quantify strength of schedule and quality of opposition faced by fighters.
Fight database Tapology has rolled out a new opposition level metric for UFC fighter profiles, assigning each competitor a rating from 1 to 99 calculated from the quality of their last six UFC opponents. The feature, which launched ahead of UFC 328 on May 9, is designed to give fans and analysts a clearer picture of the strength of schedule a fighter has faced inside the promotion. Bouts outside the UFC are not factored into the formula.

Heading the UFC 328 card with the highest opposition rating of 74 is middleweight champion Sean Strickland. The 35-year-old American, who trains out of Xtreme Couture, carries a professional record of 31 wins and 7 losses. Standing six-foot-one with a 76-inch reach, Strickland is one of the most active strikers in the division, landing 6.04 significant strikes per minute at 42 percent accuracy.

Russian heavyweight Alexander Volkov ranks second among the card's fighters with a score of 67. The 37-year-old, known as Drago, is currently ranked number one in the heavyweight division and holds a career record of 40-11. At six-foot-seven with an 80-inch reach, Volkov lands 4.78 significant strikes per minute at an accuracy of 57 percent, making him one of the more precise volume strikers at heavyweight.

At the other end of the spectrum, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzy Diaz each scored just 4, reflecting limited UFC opposition histories for both fighters.

Why it matters
- The metric gives a concrete, data-driven way to compare strength of schedule across the roster rather than relying on subjective assessment.
- A high opposition score like Strickland's 74 adds context to his record and championship standing heading into UFC 328.
- Fighters near the bottom of the scale, such as those scoring 4, are flagged as early-career or lightly tested within the UFC specifically, regardless of results elsewhere.
