Tapology has added a new feature to UFC fighter profiles that calculates and displays their level of opposition on a scale from 1 to 99. The metric is based on a specific formula and considers only the fighter's last six UFC bouts, excluding fights in other organizations. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads with a score of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. Joaquin Buckley and Sean Brady round out the top five with 55 and 54 respectively. At the bottom of the card, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz both scored just 4, indicating they have faced the weakest recent competition among fighters on the event.

Tapology has rolled out a new opposition-level metric for UFC fighter profiles, debuting the feature ahead of UFC 328 on May 9, 2026. The tool assigns each fighter a score between 1 and 99 based on a proprietary formula that accounts exclusively for their last six UFC bouts, leaving out any fights completed outside the organization.

Among the fighters competing at UFC 328, Sean Strickland tops the opposition-level leaderboard with a score of 74. The 35-year-old middleweight champion from the United States trains out of Xtreme Couture and carries a professional record of 31-7-0. Standing six-foot-one with a 76-inch reach, Strickland is one of the most active strikers in the sport, landing 6.04 significant strikes per minute at 42 percent accuracy.

Khamzat Chimaev slots in second with a score of 69, followed by heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov at 67. The 37-year-old Russian, known as "Drago," holds a 40-11-0 record and is ranked first in the heavyweight division. At six-foot-seven with an 80-inch reach, Volkov lands 4.78 significant strikes per minute at an impressive 57 percent accuracy rate.

Why it matters

  • The metric gives fans and analysts a quick, standardized way to evaluate recent competition quality across different divisions.
  • Strickland's score of 74 reinforces his status as someone who has consistently been matched against elite opposition during his championship run.
  • Scores as low as 4 highlight how dramatically experience levels can vary within a single UFC event.
