Khamzat Chimaev is planning to move up to the light heavyweight division (93 kg) following his loss at UFC 328. The most interesting potential matchup would be against Jiri Prochazka given their history. However, concerns exist about Chimaev's prospects at light heavyweight where he will lose his advantages in reach and physical strength against larger opponents who are all over 190 cm tall. His cardio issues, which surfaced in round two against Strickland and round five against Du Plessis, could be more problematic at the heavier weight where one or two strikes could end fights. The weight cut from 105-108 kg to compete at 93 kg, combined with his apparent systemic health issues, raises questions about the wisdom of this move.
