Ronda Rousey has publicly stated she believes she would defeat Holly Holm in a rematch, more than a decade after Holm stopped her with a devastating knockout to claim the UFC bantamweight title in 2015. Rousey has not acknowledged the dominance of Holm's performance that night, and no rematch is currently scheduled.

Rousey, 39, carries a professional record of 12-2 and built her legacy at bantamweight with Team Hayastan. The orthodox fighter stands five-foot-seven with a 66-inch reach and was one of the division's most statistically prolific grapplers, averaging 6.26 takedowns and 4.8 submission attempts per 15 minutes during her career. Her striking accuracy of 52 percent also ranked among the best in the division.

Holm, now 44, holds a record of 15-7 and trains out of the renowned Jackson-Wink MMA camp in New Mexico. The southpaw stands five-foot-eight with a 69-inch reach and has built her game around precise, high-volume striking, landing 3.13 significant strikes per minute at 40 percent accuracy. The former kickboxing and boxing world champion remains one of the most technically skilled strikers in women's MMA history.

Why it matters

  • Rousey's comments keep alive the possibility of a high-profile rematch involving two of the most recognizable names in women's MMA history
  • A potential bout would carry significant bantamweight intrigue, pitting Rousey's elite grappling credentials against the striking system that already produced one definitive result
  • Holm's current standing at 15-7 means a rematch would represent a major event for the division regardless of rankings implications
  • Rousey's refusal to credit Holm's 2015 performance adds a personal dimension that would fuel interest in any potential booking
