UFC Macau results: Pavlovich, Menifield, Asakura score first-round finishes

Song Yadong submitted Deiveson Figueiredo with a guillotine choke in the second round to headline UFC Macau on May 30, a card that also produced rapid first-round finishes from Sergey Pavlovich, Alonzo Menifield, and Kai Asakura.

Pavlovich wasted little time in the heavyweight division, stopping Tallison Teixeira just 39 seconds into round one. The Brazilian heavyweight, nicknamed "Xicao," entered the bout ranked 13th in the division at just 26 years old, carrying a 9-1 record and an imposing physical frame at six-foot-seven with an 83-inch reach. His 64 percent striking accuracy and 5.02 significant strikes landed per minute made him a legitimate prospect, but Pavlovich gave him no room to settle.

Menifield earned a TKO stoppage over Zhang Mingyang at 4:15 of the opening round, adding another finish to what has been a productive stretch for the light heavyweight contender.

Kai Asakura announced himself emphatically on the UFC roster, knocking out Cameron Saaiman at 1:50 of round one in what was one of the evening's sharpest performances.

The co-main event between Sumudaerji and Alex Perez ended without a result after an accidental groin strike left Perez unable to continue in round two, and the bout was officially ruled a no contest.
