Nik Newell has reflected on his 2014 WSOF title bout against Justin Gaethje, in which Gaethje won by TKO. Newell described Gaethje as nearly impossible to stop, saying the only way to halt him is to knock him completely unconscious, regardless of how much damage he absorbs or how fatigued he becomes. Newell said he has known only two fighters who maintain their full output and pressure even under heavy fatigue — Gaethje and Dricus Du Plessis.
