Quick read
Magomedrasul Gasanov has been removed from his scheduled fight against Abubakar Vagaev after the UFC flagged a substance found in his system. According to Gasanov's sparring partner Ikram Aliskerov, Gasanov provided a full record of substances taken over the past six months and returned a clean test, but the UFC determined that a particular compound — which Aliskerov compared to the meldonium situation that affected other fighters — remained in his bloodstream too long and is prohibited. Aliskerov insists Gasanov's physical condition is unchanged from his time competing under organizations that do not ban performance-enhancing drugs.
