Rafael Fiziev has stated he does not consider himself a product of the Kyrgyz martial arts school, saying he is self-made. He acknowledged the rise of Kyrgyz fighters but attributed it to the athletes' personal qualities and work ethic rather than a national system, also disputing that Valentina Shevchenko should be classified as a product of that school. Fiziev singled out Razhababli as a global phenomenon, noting his 100-percent finish rate, and placed him alongside fighters like Islam Makhachev, Khabib, and Jon Jones as individuals gifted with rare qualities.
