PFL San Diego produced a night of compelling action on June 28, with nine bouts delivering a mix of finishes and decisions across multiple divisions.

The headline result saw AJ McKee extend his winning streak to three with a unanimous decision over Salamat Isbulayev, with all three judges scoring the contest 30-27. The victory was particularly notable as it handed Isbulayev the first professional loss of his career.

Alexander Shabily shook off a lengthy stretch of inactivity to return with a unanimous decision win over Alfie Davis, while Hasan Magomedsharpov wasted little time in the co-main action, submitting Joshua Weems with an arm-triangle choke in the opening round.
Among the night's most eye-catching finishes, Liz Carmouche defeated Viviane Araujo by guillotine choke submission. Carmouche, the 42-year-old American fighter out of The Arena, carries an 13-7 record and brings a grinding, grappling-heavy style to every outing, averaging 2.57 takedowns per 15 minutes and connecting at a 54 percent striking accuracy rate. Araujo, a 39-year-old Brazilian ranked eighth in the women's flyweight division with a matching 13-7 record, is one of the more active strikers in the weight class, landing 3.84 significant strikes per minute, but she could not avoid Carmouche's opportunistic clinch work.

Rob Wilkinson, the six-foot-three Australian fighting out of Hybrid Training Centre, added another stoppage to his resume by finishing Abraham Bably via TKO. Wilkinson improves to 11-2 with the win, a record built on consistent pressure and an exceptional takedown rate of 4.47 per 15 minutes. His 80-inch reach gives opponents little room to breathe on the feet as well.

Sarvardzhon Hamidov rounded out the finishes by submitting Justin Wetzell with a rear-naked choke.

Why it matters

- Carmouche's submission victory over a ranked flyweight keeps her relevant in the women's 125-pound picture
- Wilkinson's TKO adds momentum for the light heavyweight heading into the next phase of PFL competition
