Brendan Allen won a wrestling match at RAF 14 in Las Vegas, beating Alexander Shlemenko by technical fall, 10-0, as first reported by MMA Fighting. The result came in what was Allen's first wrestling match since high school.

The bout was a departure from the usual cage setting for both men, and Allen's margin left little doubt. A technical fall ends the match once a competitor builds a 10-point lead, so the contest was stopped on the scoreboard rather than going the distance.

Allen is a middleweight ranked fourth in the division, with a 28-7-0 record. The 30-year-old American, who fights out of Kill Cliff FC, is on a three-fight winning run in his recent recorded bouts. His most recent recorded fight came on October 10, 2026, when he submitted Christian Leroy Duncan in the fifth round at UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Duncan. Before that, he beat Edmen Shahbazyan by unanimous decision in June 2026 and stopped Reinier de Ridder in the fourth round in October 2025. His numbers reflect a well-rounded game: 3.61 significant strikes landed per minute at 52 percent accuracy, 1.63 takedowns per 15 minutes and 1.1 submission attempts per 15 minutes.

Shlemenko, a 42-year-old Russian who trains with Storm Shlemenko Fight Team, brings a 56-9-0 record built largely on striking. He lands 4.36 significant strikes per minute at 60 percent accuracy, but his takedown and submission rates both sit at zero per 15 minutes. That profile helps explain why a wrestling-only ruleset favored Allen, who stands at six-foot-two with a 75-inch reach against Shlemenko's five-foot-eleven frame. The two men are also separated by 12 years in age.

Why it matters

  • Allen picked up a lopsided result in a novelty format just two weeks after his latest UFC win.
  • The numbers show a clear stylistic gap: Allen averages 1.63 takedowns per 15 minutes, while Shlemenko has recorded none.
  • The result adds to the card's talking points, with Arman Tsarukyan vs. Dillon Danis headlining and Khamzat Chimaev facing Robbie Lawler in the co-main event.
