Most Significant Strikes in a UFC Fight: Record List

Quick answer

Max Holloway holds the record for the most significant strikes in a UFC fight: 445 against Calvin Kattar. His 290 against Brian Ortega ranks second, while Rob Font's 271 against Marlon Vera ranks third. As of October 21, 2026, those are the three highest individual totals. This list counts one fighter's landed significant strikes, not both fighters combined or all strikes.

Data snapshot: AgentMMA analysis of 8,928 UFC bouts with round-by-round stats from 1994-03-11 to 2026-10-17 (computed 2026-10-21)

Each row is one fighter's whole-bout total, summed from every recorded round. The list does not add both opponents together. Check the result column too: Font landed 271 and still lost, so output alone does not decide a fight.

How this list is counted

AgentMMA queried 8,928 UFC bouts that contain round-by-round statistics. For each fighter, we added the significant strikes landed in every round of one bout. We then ranked those individual bout totals from highest to lowest.

UFC Stats treats all distance strikes as significant. It also includes power strikes from the clinch and on the ground. The label describes a scoring category, not the damage from each shot. Our UFC significant strikes explained guide breaks down that distinction.

This list has no career minimum and no five-round requirement. A bout qualifies if AgentMMA has its round-by-round UFC Stats data. The Format column shows the scheduled length, even if the fight ended early.

Only UFC bouts count here. A fighter's matches elsewhere can appear in a professional record, but they cannot enter this ranking. Results follow UFC Stats as stored in AgentMMA's database. If a result was overturned, it counts as a no-contest.

Another site may use a different cutoff date, omit no-contests, or show combined fight totals. UFC's Record Book, for example, lists Holloway versus Kattar at 578 in its combined-fight view. This page ranks one fighter at a time, which is why Holloway's record is 445.

What a high total actually tells you

A huge total usually needs three things: pace, enough fight time, and an opponent who keeps competing. Five-round fights offer ten more scheduled minutes than standard UFC bouts. That time advantage explains much of the list, but not all of it. McMillen reached 252 in a three-round format.

Every logged significant strike adds one, whatever its effect. A clean head shot and a solid leg kick each move the count by one. This table does not rank force, accuracy, knockdowns, or damage. You need those fields and the round-by-round action to judge the quality of a striking performance.

The total also says nothing by itself about grappling or who won each round. Font's loss is the clearest example. Treat this list as a record of output, not a shortcut for deciding who fought best.

Notable names on the list

Max Holloway owns four places

Holloway holds first with 445, second with 290, a tie at 230, and the final place at 198. No other fighter appears four times. His latest official result was a decision loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 in March 2026. That result changed his current run, not these recorded totals.

Tommy McMillen did it in three rounds

McMillen's 252 against Alberto Montes ranks fourth overall. It is also the highest individual total here from a scheduled three-round fight. UFC highlighted the mark as the three-round record after the July 2026 bout. He needed 15 scheduled minutes, while the three entries above him came from five-round formats.

Rob Font proves volume is not the score

Font's 271 is the third-highest total, yet Marlon Vera won their 2022 fight. Judges score rounds using the MMA criteria, not a bout-wide strike count. Font remains active: his official UFC profile lists a March 2026 decision win over Raul Rosas Jr.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk still has two entries

Jedrzejczyk landed 225 against Jessica Andrade and 220 against Valerie Letourneau. Both totals came in title fights and remain inside the top 14. She retired in June 2022 and entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2024, so neither run is still active.

How solid is this data?

The ranking covers 8,928 UFC bouts with round-by-round stats, from 1994-03-11 through 2026-10-17. Coverage is close to complete from 2000 onward and includes most 1990s bouts. An early fight without round data cannot appear.

Five-round fights have more time to build a high total. That is why the Format column matters. Still, McMillen, Diaz, Andrade, O'Malley, O'Neill, Royval, Rosa, Van, and Kaufman reached this list in scheduled three-round fights.

The database stores UFC Stats results, including later changes to no-contests. It excludes every bout from other promotions. Those limits make this a UFC record page, not an all-MMA list.

AgentMMA refreshes the page when a completed UFC event changes the top 25 or a stored result is corrected. Until then, the as-of date tells you exactly where the cutoff sits.
