UFC Flyweight Champions: Full Title History Through 2026
UFC flyweight champions, listed from the first title winner to Joshua Van. AgentMMA tracks 29 title fights and 6 winners through October 22, 2026.

Quick answer
As of October 22, 2026, 6 fighters have won a UFC men's flyweight title fight. AgentMMA counts 29 undisputed or interim championship bouts. Demetrious Johnson leads the division with 12 title-fight wins. Joshua Van is the current champion after winning his first three title fights. This is a fight-based list, so it separates wins inside the cage from vacancies and administrative title changes.
Data snapshot: AgentMMA analysis of 29 UFC Flyweight title fights, including undisputed and interim bouts, in a database covering 1994-03-11 to 2026-10-17 (computed 2026-10-22).
UFC flyweight champions: every title-fight winner
Every UFC Flyweight title-fight winner
| Fighter | First title-fight win | Title | Beat | Title-fight wins | Title-fight record | Last title fight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Demetrious Johnson | 2012-09-22 | undisputed | Joseph Benavidez | 12 | 12-1-0 | 2018-08-04 |
| Henry Cejudo | 2018-08-04 | undisputed | Demetrious Johnson | 2 | 2-1-0 | 2019-01-19 |
| Deiveson Figueiredo | 2020-07-18 | undisputed | Joseph Benavidez | 3 | 3-2-1 | 2023-01-21 |
| Brandon Moreno | 2021-06-12 | undisputed | Deiveson Figueiredo | 3 | 3-2-1 | 2023-07-08 |
| Alexandre Pantoja | 2023-07-08 | undisputed | Brandon Moreno | 5 | 5-2-0 | 2026-09-19 |
| Joshua Van | 2025-12-06 | undisputed | Alexandre Pantoja | 3 | 3-0-0 | 2026-09-19 |
This is a winner table, not a timeline of belt reigns. A fighter needs at least one win in a UFC flyweight title fight to appear. The record covers title fights in this division only, including interim bouts. Vacancies, strippings and promotions need a separate lineage note because no fight creates those rows.

| 2022-07-30 | UFC 277 | Brandon Moreno def. Kai Kara-France | KO/TKO | 3 | interim |
The latest result in AgentMMA's data is Van's decision over Pantoja at UFC 331. It gave Van his second successful defense and third title-fight win. Pantoja's five wins run from his 2023 victory over Moreno through the 2025 Kara-France defense. Moreno's UFC 277 win is included because the bout awarded an interim title.
How this list is counted
AgentMMA starts with every UFC bout stored as a men's flyweight championship contest. Undisputed and interim titles both qualify. A normal contender fight does not count, even if its winner later receives a belt without fighting.
The entry bar is simple: one title-fight win. The first table then orders fighters by the date of that first win. “Title-fight record” counts wins, losses and draws only in these championship bouts. It isn't the fighter's full UFC record or professional record.
Order and totals answer different questions. The first-win date shows when each fighter entered title history; it doesn't measure reign length. A successful defense counts as another title-fight win. A loss or draw changes the record but cannot put a new name on the winner list. The last-title-fight date is simply the latest qualifying bout in the database. It doesn't prove that a fighter retired or left the division.
That rule also keeps the table stable when rankings move. Rankings can change without a championship bout. This list changes only after a qualifying result changes the data.
This distinction matters in awkward cases. Deiveson Figueiredo stopped Joseph Benavidez in February 2020, but Figueiredo had missed championship weight. Only Benavidez could win the vacant belt, so Figueiredo's victory wasn't a title-fight win. He enters the table with their July rematch, when he made weight and won the title.
Administrative changes sit outside a bout table. Henry Cejudo relinquished the flyweight belt in December 2019, for example. The UFC's title lineage records that vacancy, while AgentMMA records the fights that produced a winner. An official lineage list may therefore look different: it follows reigns and vacancies, while this table follows title-fight wins and includes interim bouts.
Another list may also exclude interim contests or count successful defenses instead of all title wins. Those are different questions. The UFC's all-division record book gives Johnson 12 title-fight wins, which matches AgentMMA's flyweight count here.
Notable names on the list
Demetrious Johnson set the division's mark
Demetrious Johnson won the inaugural UFC flyweight title in 2012. His 12-1-0 title-fight record contains 11 straight successful defenses. That run ended when Henry Cejudo took a split decision at UFC 227 in 2018.
Johnson later finished his MMA career outside the UFC and retired in 2024. The UFC inducted him into its Hall of Fame's Modern Wing in 2026. His 12 wins remain the number to chase in this division.
Henry Cejudo closed one era, then left the belt vacant
Henry Cejudo is the only fighter in this table whose first title win came against Johnson. He defended the flyweight belt against TJ Dillashaw in January 2019. He then focused on bantamweight and relinquished the 125-pound title that December. As of this snapshot, UFC still lists him in its bantamweight division.
That last step doesn't appear as a fight result. It is why a pure bout table needs a lineage explanation beside it.
Figueiredo and Moreno built a four-fight title rivalry
Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno met four times with the flyweight belt involved. Their first bout ended in a draw. Each man then took the title before Moreno won the fourth fight in January 2023.
Both finished with 3-2-1 flyweight title-fight records in this database. Their current paths have split. Figueiredo now competes at bantamweight, while Moreno remained an active flyweight and won in September 2026.
Pantoja's run leads directly to Joshua Van
Alexandre Pantoja won five flyweight title fights, starting with Brandon Moreno at UFC 290. His reign ended against Joshua Van at UFC 323 after an early elbow injury. Pantoja returned for the September 2026 rematch, but Van won a five-round decision.
Van is 3-0-0 in flyweight title fights. Between the two Pantoja bouts, he stopped Tatsuro Taira in round five. That active run is still nine wins short of Johnson's division record.

How solid is this data?
The sample contains 29 UFC flyweight title fights, undisputed and interim. Six different fighters won at least one. AgentMMA computed the list on October 22, 2026, from UFC Stats-derived results stored in its bout database. The wider database window runs from 1994-03-11 to 2026-10-17; the UFC flyweight title itself began in 2012.
Only UFC bouts count. Fights in another promotion may appear in a fighter's labelled professional record, but they never change a UFC figure here. Results follow UFC Stats as stored by AgentMMA. If an official result is overturned, the database treats it as a no-contest.
The hardest limit is timing. A new title result can change the champion, the records and the last-10 table at once. AgentMMA refreshes this maintained page when a new result enters the database. For the live answer between updates, check the UFC Flyweight rankings.
