Sean Strickland spent the day in Newport Beach, California, where Khamzat Chimaev is currently training, and made his location publicly known in an attempt to meet with Chimaev or his team. Strickland posted his whereabouts throughout the day on social media, claiming he was only ten minutes from Chimaev's gym and that fighters training with Chimaev follow him and would have seen his stories. Strickland referenced something Chimaev allegedly said about trying to kill him on the street, challenging Chimaev to come find him. Strickland stated he was the last person in America that Chimaev should be picking a fight with, and expressed disappointment that Chimaev did not show up.
