Here's the thing about this matchup. Cowan's got that southpaw angle working for her, and when she's on, she can mix in takedowns to keep things interesting. She landed one of two attempts against Cornolle and controlled over four minutes before things went south. Pereira fights orthodox and comes from that Brazilian Life team, but she couldn't get a single takedown to land in her last fight despite three tries. That striking volume is there though, and she's willing to throw hands all night.

Both women are hungry to get back in the win column, and that desperation makes fights dangerous. Cowan needs to use that southpaw stance to create angles and maybe lean on her wrestling when things get tight. Pereira's gotta be smarter with her output and make those strikes count instead of just throwing volume for the sake of it.
