Dana White's Contender Series standout Ronald Humphrey is reportedly set to make his UFC debut against Nikolay Veretennikov at UFC 335 on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas. The matchup has been reported by multiple sources but has not been officially confirmed.

Humphrey arrives unbeaten at 5-0 after earning his place through the Contender Series. He will be stepping into the UFC for the first time against a veteran who has already spent several years in the organization.

Veretennikov, 36, is a Kazakhstan native who trains out of Kings MMA and holds a 14-8 record. The six-foot-one orthodox fighter has a 74-inch (188 cm) reach. He lands 2.74 significant strikes per minute at 56 percent accuracy, while his grappling output is modest: 0.4 takedowns and 0.4 submission attempts per 15 minutes.

His recent form is mixed. His most recent recorded fight, on May 16, 2026, ended in a first-round KO/TKO loss to Khaos Williams at UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Costa. Before that, he stopped Niko Price by first-round KO/TKO on Feb. 7, 2026, after dropping a unanimous decision to Punahele Soriano at UFC 320 in October 2025. That is two losses in his last three recorded bouts.

Why it matters

  • Experience gap: Veretennikov has 22 professional fights to Humphrey's five, and 17 more than the newcomer.
  • Debut test: Humphrey's unbeaten record has been built outside the UFC, and this would be his first fight against an established roster name.
  • Veteran at a crossroads: Veretennikov's recent run of finishes, both given and received, suggests his fights rarely go the distance. Two of his last three recorded bouts ended inside the first round.
  • Striking-heavy profile: Veretennikov's low takedown rate points to a stand-up fight if he dictates the pace.

If the booking holds, UFC 335 would offer a clear measure of whether Humphrey's Contender Series form translates against a seasoned opponent.
