Diego Lopes will challenge Charles Oliveira for the BMF title on Dec. 12, headlining UFC's final numbered card of the year in Las Vegas. Oliveira won the belt in March with a dominant performance against Max Holloway. Lopes said he hopes Oliveira comes in looking for a war, adding: "Let's see who goes down first."

Diego Lopes has decided to move up to 155 pounds, saying clear opponents at featherweight have run thin. He pointed to his two losses to Alexander Volkanovski and his most recent win at 145 pounds, saying there are not many options left at the weight right now.

Jean Silva is getting way too much hype for where he actually stands in the featherweight division. The idea that he is a future champion just does not match up with what we have seen in the cage. He got completely starched and knocked out by Diego Lopes, and that decision win over Arnold Allen was super questionable, with a lot of people scoring it for Allen. If you put Silva in there with any of the actual top five guys, his defensive gaps and wild style are going to get exploited by real technicians. The double standard is crazy when you look at someone like Aljamain Sterling. Aljo has put together a legitimate run at 145 with wins over Kattar, Ortega, and Zalal, yet he barely gets mentioned in the title conversation while Silva gets hyped to the moon. Silva has flash, but until he shows he can beat a top guy cleanly, calling him a future titleholder is a massive stretch.
