Best Striking Accuracy UFC: Shara Magomedov Leads at 62.8%

Quick answer

As of October 22, 2026, Shara Magomedov has the best striking accuracy in the UFC among qualifying active fighters. He has landed 62.8% of his significant strikes. Ciryl Gane ranks second at 61.7%. AgentMMA requires at least five UFC bouts and 350 attempts, so a short two-fight run can't lead this list.

Data snapshot: AgentMMA analysis of 5,370 UFC bouts from 1994-03-11 to 2026-10-17. It covers 413 active fighters with 5+ UFC bouts and 350+ significant-strike attempts (computed 2026-10-22).

Accuracy is a career rate from UFC bouts, not a grade for power or technique. The attempt column gives each percentage its scale. Shara leads after 860 attempts, while Gane's 61.7% comes across 1,593. Fighters shown with the same one-decimal rate keep AgentMMA's computed order.

How this list is counted

Striking accuracy is significant strikes landed divided by significant strikes attempted. AgentMMA uses the round-by-round figures stored from UFC Stats. It doesn't mix in total strikes or fights from another promotion. For a deeper breakdown, read How UFC striking accuracy is calculated.

A fighter must be active, have at least five UFC bouts and throw at least 350 significant strikes. All three filters matter. Five bouts stop a debut surge from taking first place. The attempt floor also removes small samples from quick finishes or low-output fights.

The list covers 413 qualifying fighters and 5,370 UFC bouts. The date range starts on March 11, 1994, and ends on October 17, 2026. We rank the stored career totals, then show the result to one decimal place.

Another site's list may use a different answer without either calculation being wrong. The UFC record book can put Alistair Overeem first at 74.3%. It includes inactive fighters and requires 500 attempts. AgentMMA limits this page to active fighters and lowers the attempt floor to 350.

That last choice brings newer active fighters into view sooner. It also means you should compare the raw attempts beside the percentage. A 60% rate over 355 tries has less history behind it than 60% over 1,875.

Notable names on the list

Shara Magomedov

Magomedov leads with 540 significant strikes landed from 860 attempts. That is 62.8% across seven UFC bouts. His UFC profile lists a unanimous-decision win over Michel Pereira on June 27, 2026, as his latest result. More cage time can move his rate quickly because his sample is smaller than Gane's.

Ciryl Gane

Gane sits just behind Shara at 61.7%, but his base is much larger: 983 landed from 1,593 attempts. UFC promoted him to undisputed heavyweight champion in September 2026. He had previously won the interim belt against Alex Pereira. His figure combines elite placement with 14 UFC bouts.

Alex Pereira

Pereira ranks fourth at 61.4%, with 697 of 1,136 significant strikes landing. UFC now lists the former middleweight and light-heavyweight champion as a heavyweight. Accuracy doesn't measure damage, yet Pereira's position shows that a power striker can still land at a high career rate.

Sean O'Malley

O'Malley has the sixth-best rate at 60.3%. His 1,131 landed strikes are the second-highest total in this table, behind Joshua Van. The former bantamweight champion also has 1,875 attempts, so his percentage rests on far more volume than most names above him.

Islam Makhachev

Makhachev is easy to miss on a striking list because his grappling gets more attention. He ranks 20th at 58.0%, with 507 landed from 874 attempts. UFC lists him as its current welterweight champion and a former lightweight champion. His 19 UFC bouts tie Alexander Volkov for the largest fight sample here.

How solid is this data?

The sample is broad: 5,370 UFC bouts and 413 active fighters met the two career minimums. Still, this isn't a list of every athlete who has entered the Octagon. Inactive fighters, careers under five UFC bouts and totals under 350 attempts are excluded.

Only UFC bouts feed the accuracy figure. A fighter's professional record can include fights elsewhere, but those strikes never enter this calculation. Results follow UFC Stats as stored in AgentMMA's database. If a result is overturned, it counts as a no-contest.

Accuracy also rewards selectivity and close range. A fighter who throws fewer, safer shots can finish above a high-volume striker working at distance. Volume and accuracy often pull in opposite directions. Read attempts and bouts before treating a small gap as meaningful.

AgentMMA refreshes this maintained record page when new UFC results change the totals, eligibility or active roster. The next update can move a rate even when nobody enters or leaves the top 25.

FAQ

Who has the best striking accuracy in the UFC?

Shara Magomedov leads qualifying active UFC fighters at 62.8% as of October 22, 2026. He has landed 540 of 860 significant-strike attempts across seven UFC bouts.

Who is the most accurate striker in the UFC right now?

Under AgentMMA's active-fighter rules, it is Shara Magomedov at 62.8%. Ciryl Gane follows at 61.7%, based on 983 landed strikes from 1,593 attempts.

How is UFC striking accuracy calculated?

Divide significant strikes landed by significant strikes attempted, then multiply by 100. This page uses UFC round-by-round stats and career totals from UFC bouts only.

Why does the UFC record book show a different leader?

Its public record book includes inactive fighters and uses a 500-attempt minimum. That can place Alistair Overeem at 74.3%. This page uses active fighters with at least 350 attempts.

Does the highest striking accuracy mean the best striker?

No. Accuracy says how often significant-strike attempts land. It doesn't capture power, defense, output, opponent quality or shot difficulty. Use the rate with attempts, bouts and other striking measures.
